Total BPF Donations Surpass $25,000
With the inclusion of the two gifts highlighted below, total donations to the
Bulldog Pride Fund at Fresno State have surpassed $25,000. The BPF is an endowment that provides an annuity to support students at Fresno State. The earnings [interest] of the BPF are used to fund student scholarships, while the endowment [principal] continues to earn interest in perpetuity for the funding of future scholarships.

Jared Lindo, the inaugural Bulldog Pride Fund Scholar."The Bulldog Pride Fund was founded in 2005 and officially established in 2006," says Peter Robertson, BPF founder. "The endowment has been made possible by the gifts from 226 generous donors and three other non-profit organizations that have made this $25,000 milestone possible."

The inaugural BPF Scholar, Jared Lindo, was presented a $1,000 scholarship at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala held at the Save Mart Center in October, 2006. Lindo, a sophomore from the Modesto-area, is a civil engineering major. The second BPF scholar will soon be announced and subsequently awarded a $1,000 scholarship in the fall semester, 2007.

CCA ~ Central California Alliance.CCA Awards BPF $200
The Central California Alliance [CCA] has awarded the Bulldog Pride Fund at Fresno State a grant of $200. It was presented to Peter Robertson, BPF founder, at the 7th annual CCA Talent Night Show-- recently held at Roger Rocka's Music Hall. Founded in 1993, CCA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive change, equal rights, social and networking opportunities for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people through programs of community service and philanthropy.

"This is a kind donation to the Bulldog Pride Fund and a wonderful endorsement from CCA," states Peter Robertson, a CCA member since 1993, former CCA board member and former "Connections" editor. "With CCA's assistance, more than $25,000 has been raised for this endowment that supports students scholarships at Fresno State.'

The CCA donation is the third gift from a non-profit organization to BPF. It follows a $100 gift from PFLAG-Fresno Chapter earlier this year, as well as a $250 gift from the Fresno State Alumni Association last year.

Lt. Barbara Hammerman (1959-2006).
BPF Receives $1,000 Anonymous Memorial Gift
The Bulldog Pride Fund at Fresno State has received its first memorial gift-- a $1,000 donation in memory of Barbara Hammerman [1959-2006]. A veteran of the San Mateo Police Dept., Lt. Hammerman
was the first openly gay officer in San Mateo, the first female sergeant, the first female lieutenant, and the first female motorcycle officer.

For her tireless service on behalf of the people of San Mateo County, the Board of Supervisors officially proclaimed Aug. 16, 2005 “Lt. Barbara Hammerman Day.” Today, in Barbara’s honor [and memory] the “Hammerman Award” is presented annually to a San Mateo County law enforcement officer for outstanding service to victims of domestic violence. In 2006, she was also presented the “Pride Alliance Award” from the San Francisco Police Officers’ Association.

"For the first memorial gift to the Bulldog Pride Fund to be given in Lt. Barbara Hammerman's name is a fitting tribute," says
Peter Robertson, BPF founder. "She was a proud veteran of the San Mateo Police Dept. and a noted alumna of the CSU system-- receiving her MPA in 2004 from Cal State East Bay." [Ed. note: Cal Sate East Bay was formerly known as CSU Hayward].

The BPF graciously accepts tribute ["In Honor of"] and memorial gifts, as well as
donations in the form of securities, real property, corporate matching gifts and bequests. [Download PDF Donation Form]
