Bulldog Pride Fund Scholars Jared Lindo, Adrian Quintero and Sara Martinez.Bulldog Pride Fund Scholars Presented $3,000
The 2007-08 Bulldog Pride Fund scholarsJared Lindo, Sara Martinez and Adrian Quintero—were each presented $1,000 scholarships on Oct. 18, 2007 at the Fresno State Alumni Association's Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala held at the Save Mart Center.

Each scholar was also presented a small, bronze bulldog with the Latin inscription “BONUS INTRA. MELIOR EXI.”—which translates “Come in good. Go out better.” Additionally, the scholars made personal donations to the BPF to financially assist students in the future. (Thank you Jared, Sara and Adrian—we appreciate your support!)

Lindo (Class of 2009) is a junior majoring in civil engineering, Martinez (Class of 2008) is a senior studying social work, and Quintero (Class of 2008) is a senior with a double major in criminology and Chicano & Latin American studies.

Bulldog Pride Fund Scholar Jared Lindo was one of five College of Engineering students each selected to represent the five Departments within the College that were recognized on the 50-yard line at the Fresno State vs. Utah State football game at Bulldog Stadium on Oct. 3, 2007.

Just prior to the kickoff, following the Presentation of Colors by Fresno State's joint Army and Air Force ROTC and the playing of National Anthem by the Bulldog Marching Band, Dr. Sam Iacobellis, Congressman Jim Costa and the five students were honored with a very rare flyover by two B1-Lancers (a.k.a. B1-Bombers).

Iacobellis, a Fresno State alumnus, is well-known in the aerospace industry as "The Father of the B-1 Bomber." Costa, also a Fresno State graduate, serves as U.S. Representative for California’s 20th District. Lindo, a junior majoring in civil engineering, is a two-time Bulldog Pride Fund Scholar and donor, as well as a student member of the ASCE— American Society of Civil Engineers; and the FSAA—Fresno State Alumni Association.

The College of Engineering at Fresno State provides high-quality academic programs that support the infrastructure and growth of the Central California region. Its departments are Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Geomatics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

California State University, Fresno.BPF Accepting Applications for 2008-09
The Bulldog Pride Fund at Fresno State is accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a student in the 2008-09 academic year. The BPF scholarship criteria is that a Fresno State incoming or returning student with good academic standing that has demonstrated pride in the community be selected as its recipient. The BPF will also bestow the newly-established GSA NETWORK AWARD of $1,000 to a student affiliated with the GSA NETWORK in the 2008-09 academic year.

For the 2008-09 academic year, the “priority window” deadline to apply for all scholarships at Fresno State, including the Bulldog Pride Fund, is from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30, 2007. Fresno State scholarship applications: Online.

BPF Donations Surpass $45,000
Donations to the Bulldog Pride Fund at Fresno State have totaled $45,263.22. The BPF is an endowment that provides an annuity to support student scholarships at Fresno State. The earnings (interest) of the BPF are used to fund scholarships, while the endowment (principal) continues to earn interest in perpetuity for the funding of future scholarships.
